Screenshot Studio

What it does

Show people how it works, without making a video

Screenshot Studio turns pictures of your website or app into a demo that talks. Each screen appears in turn, a guide explains it out loud, and a pointer shows where to click. You build it in four steps, in your web browser.

Four steps from screenshots to a finished demo

Step 1

Welcome and thank-you screens

Give your demo a title and a short line to go under it. Add a thank-you screen for the end, with a button that takes viewers back to your website. Choose the guide who will present it.

Step 2

Choose the voice

Pick a male or female voice and press Test voice to hear it. Fine-tune the volume, speed and pitch until it sounds right.

Step 3

Build your slides

Add your screenshots: upload pictures you have saved, or capture them live from your own website. For each slide, type or dictate what the voice should say, add numbered mouse points to show where to click, and press Preview slide to check it.

Step 4

Preview and save

Play the whole demo through exactly as viewers will see and hear it. When you are happy, save it. You get the finished demo as one file, plus a project file so you can come back and change it later.

Two ways to get your screens in

Upload screenshots

Take screenshots the way you always do, then choose them or drop them onto the page. This works with any website, app or program.

Capture and snap

Open your own website inside the studio, use it as normal and press Snap whenever a screen is ready. Every shot comes out the right shape to fill the demo.

For capture, the studio file has to be uploaded to the same website as the pages you want to snap. Uploading screenshots has no such rule.

What makes it easy

  • Nothing to install. The studio is one file that opens in your web browser.
  • No recording. You type or dictate the words and the voice reads them, so changing a line later takes seconds.
  • Your work is saved as you go. Close the page and press Carry on next time to pick up where you left off.
  • Edit any time. Open the project file to change a picture, a line or a mouse point, then save the demo again.
  • Your pictures stay with you. Screenshots are kept in your own browser. They are not uploaded to us.
  • One file to share. The demo is a single web page with the pictures built in. Viewers just open it and press Play.
